Visual Sound, Inc. Acquires the Audio/Video Products & Systems Division of Peirce-Phelps, Inc.
Together, Both Companies Have Over 100 Years of A/V Product and Systems Experience.
BROOMALL, PA - December 29, 2000 - Visual Sound, Inc. announced today that the company has acquired the Audio/Video Products & Systems Division of Peirce-Phelps, Inc. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a company that has been in the A/V business for over 35 years. The acquisition establishes Visual Sound as the largest audio/visual dealer in the Mid-Atlantic region.
"The acquisition of Peirce-Phelps' Audio/Video Products & Systems Division is an important step in our overall growth," says Visual Sound President John S. Bogosian. "They are recognized as a leader in the industry and the acquisition will allow us to significantly expand both our engineering and service capabilities."
Joe W. Hartley, Visual Sound's Director of Sales, added that, "The Audio/Video Products & Systems Division of Peirce-Phelps will integrate positively with our current sales and marketing model. Visual Sound is a leading integrator and rental provider of industrial audio/visual equipment and computers and was founded in 1967. They are centrally located in Broomall, Pennsylvania with satellite offices in Allentown, Harrisburg and Baltimore, Maryland. Visual Sound is also contracted with the Pennsylvania Convention Center as the only in-house audio/visual supplier.
Peirce-Phelps is a 75 year old company serving the Mid-Atlantic market. Peirce-Phelps will focus its efforts on the growth of its HVAC and consumer product distribution businesses.
It is expected that the addition of Peirce-Phelps' Audio/Video Products & Systems Division will further enhance Visual Sound's market penetration and improve its overall efficiency. This acquisition brings together two of the most highly recognized and experienced A/V companies in the industry and positions Visual Sound as a dominant force in the Mid-Atlantic region.
